Jay Gallagher, Manager (see complete bio)
Jay joined our team as General Manager in December, 2005. Jay is a graduate of the University of North Carolina and the Colorado School of Mines. He brings 26 years of industry experience to the position, having served in senior management positions in the GIS and industrial imaging industry and in corporate planning and technical field positions in the mining industry.

Janice Illian, Office Manager / Bookkeeper
Janice, a native of Colorado has been with us as long as she's been in Steamboat - since 1973. Before she came to Steamboat she attended Mesa State and the University of Northern Colorado. She is married and has two grown sons. One of her favorite past times is boating at Lake Powell. When she is not on the water, she's probably hiking and camping in the mountains and deserts in Colorado and Utah.

"I've worked for Mount Werner a very long time and have watched it grow along with the Steamboat Ski Area. I take pride in the fact that our District is one of the most financially sound Special Districts in the State and our infrastructure is state of the art."

Jeff Peterson, Superintendent
Also a native of Colorado, Jeff was born in Denver. He's lived in Steamboat for many years and has been with us for 23 years. He is a Class A Water Works Operator, Class III Technician for Water Distribution, and Class III for Wastewater Collection. He and his wife, Jody, have been married for 27 years. They also have a son, Jesse. On his days off, Jeff will be flyfishing, mountain biking, hiking, backcountry skiing or snowshoeing.

Richard Buccino, District Engineer
We are very pleased to have Richard join our staff. Richard brings 26 years of engineering, construction and project management experience related to a wide array of both public and private development projects.

As many of you may be aware Richard spent 14 years with the City of Steamboat Springs Public Works Department Engineering Division. In this capacity Richard helped with many of the public projects we all now enjoy.

You may see Richard in his off hours completing home improvement projects, flyfishing, hunting, hiking and just being a parent for his son Dustin.

Tim Gibbons, Water Treatment Plant Operator
Tim is from North Carolina and has lived in Steamboat for 27 years. He attended the University of North Carolina where he received his BA. He has worked with Mount Werner Water as a plant operator for nine years and holds certification for a Class A Water Works Operator. Sue, his wife, and his son, Micah, spend their time recreating around Steamboat and surrounding areas.

Greg Burkholder, Field Technician
Greg is originally from Pennsylvania and has been with Mount Werner Water for 22 years. He holds certification for a Class III in Wastewater Collection and a Class III in Water Distribution. He and his wife Amy have two girls, Gretchen and Anna. Greg is an avid cross-country skier and when there is no snow, he's either backpacking or hiking. He also enjoys growing vegetables in his garden.

Patti Retz, Accounts Receivable / Customer Service
Patti has lived in Steamboat since 1993; she is married with two grown daughters. Patti enjoys hiking, biking, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, and with any spare time she is a weekend potter.

Bruce Thompson, Water Treatment Plant Operator
Originally from Longmont, Bruce has lived in Steamboat for 18 years and has been with Mount Werner Water for 11 years. He holds certification as a Class A Water Works Operator, a Class III Technician for Water Distribution, and a Class III in Wastewater Collection. He and his wife Nancy have five kids. On the weekends, you can find Bruce on the slopes or biking.

Floyd "Lucky" Mosher, Maintenance Worker
Lucky, a true native of Steamboat Springs, has been working with us for four years. He holds a CDL and operates all of our big equipment. He and his wife Kim have two daughters, Lacey and Lindsey. Lucky enjoys snowmobiling, fishing, hiking, and camping.
