Construction Update on New Water Lines, Storage Tank
Projects Include New Hydrants, Water Mains,
Storage Tanks, Sewer Extensions
Over the 2007 construction season, Mount Werner Water & Sanitation District ("the District") worked on projects designed to improve the performance of the District's water system and increase water supplies for fire-fighting. At this time, we are pleased to offer you our report on results.
Fire Hydrants
During 2006-2007, we installed 43 new fire hydrants throughout the District.
Upper and Lower Longthong Loops
We completed installation of the two water mains: one connecting Ski Trail Lane to Longthong Road; the other connecting the Longthong cul-de-sac to Apres Ski Way.
Laurel Lane Tank
We have received the geotechnical report which identifies the best site for the tank above the Laurel Lane cul-de-sac. When we have completed the engineering design, we will put this project out to bid this winter with the expectation of constructing the access road and excavating the tank site in 2008.
Burgess Creek/Ridge Road Tank
In May, 2007, we received the Special Use Permit from the Forest Service allowing us to proceed. In 2007, our contractor completed the access road, installed half the feeder main, excavated the tank site, and poured the tank structure.
New Burgess Creek Pump Station and PRV (pressure reducing valve)
This combined project will provide a new pumping facility for the new Burgess Creek Tank and create a water main loop for residents along Ridge Road and Burgess Creek Road between Ridge Road and the old pump station. In 2007, the site designs and pump house design were completed and the project put out to bid for construction.
Sewer main extensions to Ski Trail Lane
We completed two sewer mains to Ski Trail Lane: one from Poma Lane; the other from the area below the Fox Trail Townhomes.
